The Strangest Pre-Shave Routine
Really I only posting because I am getting tired of seeing trouble building a lather....but I did see this strange pre-shave routine, this guy lathers his face then takes a hot towel and rubs all the lather in....then re-lathers and shaves....maybe the first lathering was preceded by a hot towel.......I'm wondering if anyone has tried this? It kind of looks like fun...plus I have about 5 years worth of soap accumulated now so this might be a way to use some more of it up......

There are some videos showing a double lather with a hot towel before and after the first lather.
I double lather but don't use hot towels. First lather cleans the hair and softens the beard. YMMV

I do that sometimes. An old barber taught me that routine and I like it.

I have seen hot towel placed over lather, I would presume the same effect as to soften the beard.
I would be more inclined to try that if I had a good chair to lay back in available in my shave den/area.
As far as rubbing it in, for a quick prep I will use Williams to wash my face with and just use a hot damp washrag to wipe it off, same theory and works well for me.It is just Whisker Whacking

On some shaving soaps bowl, it's racommended to cleanse your face with a soap before you start shaving .
I used this kind of pre-shave method ....it's a very good experience for the skin...very relaxing and functiona l but very time consuming and therefore not always practicable"Consider well the seed that gave your birth: you were not made to lives as brutes, but to following virtue and knoweledge"

You could always just shave your whole body to burn through more soap

I never thought I was strange... Well ok yes I did
I have never shaved with a straight or DE any other way. I shower after shaving so it just made sense and is a nice relaxing way to ease into the day."The best way to have a good idea is to have a lot of ideas." -Linus Pauling
