Wow! Try a scuttle
When I started shaving with a straight I bought the VDH kit and went at it. Then I started to buy soaps (lots of soaps), creams eventually a couple better brushes, and some ceramic shaving bowls. I thought it could not get much better. I loved shaving. The beautiful bowl, soft brush, super close shave.
I just picked up a handmade scuttle. WOW!
I will have to start dusting off my beautiful bowls now because the hot lather in the scuttle is going to ruin me for shaving any other way. It is a nice luxury. Just something about hot/warm lather.

Yeah, I agree. I have a Dirty Bird scuttle and use it almost every shave unless I'm using Arko, or another hard soap and face lathering.

I agree with the scuttle as being great. I have a hollow one that holds hot water to keep the lather warm. Very nice !!!!

Well i mostly face lather but also i have a gp g12 scuttle. i also love using it and it makes great lather

Lol yes I enjoy it very much. You can always trust ze German's to over engineer something and it seems scuttles are no exeption. I swear I could leave the lather over night and it would still be warm in the morning Originally Posted by OldSalt
