Default Surely I can’t be the only one doing this?

I do various versions of this bowl-in-bowl (or cup) system. Here I’m using a metal shaving bowl inside a coffee cup/mug. In this case the bowl fits exactly
Hot water in the mug of course.

I used the bowl in a bowl method (Van Der Hagen lathering bowl inside larger bowl) to see if I like it shaving with warm lather before investing more money in a scuttle.

I used to use that method when I first started. That's the poor man's scuttle. However a proper scuttle holds way more water and keeps the lather much warmer longer.

    Hence your username? :P
I have soaps of various sizes, and I could never decide which scuttle to go for, but I’m open to suggestions.

I guess I should have called this thread “improvised scuttles”.
Another match, in this case neither the metal bowl nor the mug were bought for shaving purposes, but the setup fits the larger soaps, such as this Tabac, perfectly.
