Now I might just need to order....Lord knows I don't need anymore shave soap or Aftershave LOL
Brother! I'm already asking myself "...just why are you ordering yet another soap???"

The Ogallala site sends a free gift or gifts depending on how much you order. This can be anything from their inventory up to a sampler pack of 1 oz plastic bottles of all they offer (Aftershave and Cologne).

Yes, I'm a huge fan of Ogallala AS. I love their Bay Rum (BR), BR with Lime and Peppercorn, and BR with sage and cedar. I wasn't a fan of the Sandalwood. To me, with that combination, the BR was lost...but to each his own.
Thanks for the heads up on the Ogallala website. The particular scent I was interested in most was out of stock, so I picked it up at West Coast Shaving. It physically pained me to order this from clear accross the country, but the price was still better than Amazon or Ebay. I'll definately give the Ogallala site another look.

Just visited the Ogallalabayrum site and they appear to be down for business. They have a notice up basically staying that they are shifting their focus to providing product to other vendors instead of selling directly to the public.

I was PIFd a puck of the BR/Sage/Cedar. It is super slick, my shave was good, but the lather was not what I was used to at all. It was thin, and not dense like my others are (razorock, htgam, original p160, etc). I saw a Nick Shaves video with pretty much the same story.

I have the same one. It's currently number two on my favorite soap list. I've been able to get a very good lather with it, but what I'm learning is that each soap has different requirements to get a good lather. I agree that Ogallala soap seems to require a bit more water than most, and send to yield a more creamy lather, and to little water will yield a clumpy looking lather for me.

I've been using Ogallala soap for a few days and I like it a lot. This soap can get to a stage where it looks clumpy. Kind of like cottage cheese. That's my indicator that it's just about ready. Add a small drizzle of water (this soap can handle a good bit of water), and in a bit you will have a very slick creamy lather. Stiff peaks with this soap are an indication that you need a bit more water. When this soap is ready, the tips of the peaks will sort of fall over, and you will have a fairly shiny, creamy lather. The smell and the shave with this soap is wonderful. Very nice glide with the razor, and the lather lasts a long time before our begins to dry out. A10 second load on my brush produced fat more lather than I needed. In fact I found that losing the brush too long will result in a bad lather simply because there is so much if it that it's impossible to completely build the lather. A10 second load on the brush is always plenty for me. The feel of my skin after the shave is slightly dry with this soap. If you have dry skin, this soap may not be best for you. This soap doesn't beat Mystic Water soap, in my opinion, but it's a close second.

I get great lather with OBR soaps. I dribble a "brush full" of water onto the puck as I soak my brush and wash my face. Then dump the soapy water into my bowl, load the brush (the pucks are huge and inexpensive - I really load the brush to the point I start to get a thick foam on the bristles). I start whipping with the soapy water in the bowl, but always have to add water. Add a little at a time until the lather begins to coat the sides of the bowl.

    Here is a typical result:

I really like the soap and it is a regular in my rotation.

    Shave on!

I tried again yesterday and spent more time loading, it helped, but the final lather was still a bit more of a light foam texture than dense, rich, thick lather that I get with other soaps. That said, I still had an excellent shave with it.

    Same experience here.
More of an air-y lather, rather than a thick one. Still good, though.
I also found that it matches quite well with the AS.
