The oils I have tried I am not a fan of, I am sure it is a ymmv thing. I have tried Proraso, and it was good, Castle Forbes and it was good but really expensive and Noxema and it is good and crazy inexpensive. I did try cream rinse once, but then my order of stuff came in and I have not returned to to continue the experiment. In theory it should be the cheapest. Both the cream rinse and Castle Forbes is a little runny so it is a little weird to use. I think you should start with the most inexpensive and start experimenting until you find what you like. Sometimes you have to try worse things to get to decide the first one was best but you will not not what your face and routine works best with, without experimenting.

Like RezDog, I have been thought several oils and creams.

But have settled on Proraso White pre-shave, and now use it for every shave.

Castle Forbes Unscented Pre-Shave Oil - recommended by Obie and after trying so many, this is the best one I've used by far....

I have a sample of Art of Shaving pre-shave oil. I tried it a few times and felt a little neutral about it until I read suggestions that such oils could be detrimental to brushes. I don't know if that was true but I no longer felt neutral after that.

Now I stick Noxema and Mitchell's Wool Fat bath soap.

    Alex7,

I like to wash face with Musgo Real Glyce or L'Occitane Bon Mere soap, followed by Proraso White (Aloe & Green tea).

    Have fun

    Best regards

I do the same. Noxema is very inexpensive and MWF bath soap lasts forever.
