Thanked: 70Hard water solution
If you live in a place that has hard water you might try this. Buy a gallon of distilled water. Put
the amount of distilled water in your brush soaking cup; put the cup in the microwave, on high
for a minuet then put your brush in the cup and go about your normal prep routine. If you put
water in your soap container to soften it use the distilled for that also. "Works for me."

Tom that's my solution when I work in New Mexico or some of the other places that have crap water, showering with it is like being pelted with hail and it needs quite a bit of bleach to keep the smell to a tolerable level. so I keep distilled water in my RV for shaving and for honing great idea Tom
Victor I wonder if I could get an RO for my Rv? Tc“ I,m getting the impression that everyone thinks I have TIME to fix their bikes”

I think ill look into it, but you still cant drink water form you Tv tanks. or at least I wouldn't,,, but I maybe it would make it better for me, I know out in New Mexico the water makes my skin dry out and itch. I,m buying a 5gallon water dispenser as soon as I get to townnext or send a worm to do it so I guess that water would work too. I have used my bottled water in the past. Tc

Hey, watch it disparaging our water like that. We actually have great quality water in N.M just that it's hard except of course the area around Artesia where everything is polluted there. The smell has nothing to do with hardness that's either the processing they do or don't do to it or it's other chemicals in the water. Most water already has bleach in it as well as chlorine, fluoride and a host of chemicals otherwise it would look so foul you wouldn't drink it and that's pretty much anyplace in the world.
Even if you live someplace where you have a private well and think you have great water most wells actually have terrible water quality. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

well I just so happen to have a tank full of water hauled from the Artesia yard 2 days ago,,, it sucks. but over here in southeastern New Mexico, it is very bad water. maybe I,m spoiled because of our water in Memphis, one of the better water systems in the country. now I,m not trying to upset ole Mr. L, but that water over here is terrible, maybe worse than Angola! as for the area, I happen to know Mr. L owned this part of New Mexico and Hell, he rents this place and lives in Hell Tc

Thanked: 70I have offered this solution before: buy a gallon of distilled water, put the distilled water in your soaking cup to what level is normal for you,
put the cup in the microwave on high for a minuet, soak your brush in the hot cup until you are ready to lather then later. If more water is
needed dip the brush back into the cup of distilled water. By doing this you have sidestepped the hard water issue.
