ok i havent shaved since mid july of 2009 since i tend to grow my beard out for winter and st patty's obviously i need to trim it down and and shower up before i get in to the real cleansing and prep. what do you recommend for something like this

i cant shave til thursday though or people may kill me lol

Just use a scissor or clipper to reduce it and then just the normal preparation for a straight shave and you should be OK.

Remove the hat before shaving.
Seriously, just a trim and have at it.
IMO, no trim is necessary if shaving with a straight.

Thanked: 11ha ha thanks its a big hit at the parades but i didnt go this year crappy weather and pricey booze but now i know how a celebrity feels i couldnt go to or from the bathroom without being swarmed by drunk chicks for pictures

Thanked: 11i actually do better if i let it grow for a week than shave atleast with the fusion i was using, this is my first go at old school shaving, but i would take the trimmer to it, shower, soap, wipe dry apply the gillette gel crap and go at it and be fine.
and yeah i couldnt imagin lathering up as is and going at it now its hard enough to get a good lather with shampoo on it.
