Thanked: 2american crew - classic shave cream?
Has anyone tried the american crew classic shave cream? I've had a tub of this stuff for a few years and i like it, but i would like to know where this sits on the quality scale. I would like to get some "better" soap or cream but i would like to know if my money would be better spent on a boar brush and a new cream or skip the cream and get a better badger brush
I was reading in the beginner section that the use of a brush could make a cream quite a bit better, so im not sure where to take my next step. Thanks in advance!Last edited by cannibal; 03-15-2011 at 07:30 PM.

Thanked: 227I have no experience with the american crew soaps and so will leave that to the guys who may have used it, however what I will say is please don't write off cheaper boar brushes as "inferior" I have badger and boar brushes and in certain occasions my boar is a go to, so please for the love of all things fair reserve judgement till you've tried both, if the american crew works out to be good, then buy two brushes and try out each

Thanked: 2That's a good point, i really have no frame of reference and all that I've read says that boar brushes are "better" but better is quite subjective. Do you have any recommendations for a good boar brush? I definitely like the idea of getting both brushes and deciding for myself which i prefer, but for now I'm only getting one
Edit: that's supposed to read "i have read *badger* brushes are better"Last edited by cannibal; 03-16-2011 at 03:01 AM. Reason: im dumb :B

I like both boar and badger.
As far as the cream I have used it with superlather with good results. Never used it on its own.

Thanked: 227My boar experience sits with Omega, and I cant fault them at all. I personally find the boar when I have short stiff stubble works really well

I also enjoy both boar and badger brushes. The badger is good for when I make my lather in a scuttle, the boar is great for face lathering. Sometimes I'll face lather with my badger even, that works well as well. If I had to choose only one brush, it would be a boar for me. I really like a stiffer brush.
