Thanked: 1What is a suggestion for some of the better soaps? I have seen them up as high as $60. I'm on a college budget so that's not an option. And where can I get said soaps? I'm always open to new ideas that's why I love srp. Thanks

Real Shave Co. cream can be had at most rite aid stores for under 6 bucks. It will out perform VDH w/o trying. Another easily found cream is c.o. bigelow at bath and body works. A small tube is 5, a large 10. It's proraso in a different tube. Another good option is mama bear soaps (online) they run roughly ten bucks a tub but lather really well and are long lasting.
Also, keep your eye out for an Omega brush. They can be had for 15ish dollars and they lather far better than the VDH brush could ever dream of. After about 3 weeks of use they're amazing unless you start out with the 10048 which is floppy for a boar brush and doesn't usually stink as bad the first couple uses as some others.

Most of the English soaps if you avoid the wood bowls are around $18 or so and MWF is cheaper also. yes there are really expensive soaps but most of the great performers are very reasonable. Just supply your own mug which you can source in Wally World as an oversized coffee mug.
