Yes, they are pricey, and while I really liked the shave cream, I have stopped using it because it contains parabens...oh, well. I continue to use the oil and balm. If that ingredient isn't an issue for you, I would definitely recommend their save creams. I will say, every once in a while, if you buy their products on a regular basis, you sometimes get nice freebies. I received an email informing me they were shipping a travel kit in the mail complete with cream, oil, balm AND a travel brush to show their appreciation. And I hadn't even bought all that much stuff. Classy place.

I like their Lavender cream and ASB, I do use the pre shave oil and find that it needs to sit on the face for a minute or 3 before applying lather to be effective *(but I do notice the difference with it)

Hopefully they send me some stuff as I've bought a bit of kit there (Razors, Creams, brushes etc)

one thing that has really helped me of late is lathering up my face after I put soap on the brush, from the brush, and leaving it there as I prepare the shaving lather proper in the scuttle. rinsing it off with a hot washcloth and then lathering up for the shave.
I have a seriously coarse beard and this extra softening has made an amazing difference in shaving comfort.Haven't tried oil yet but from this experience I could really see how it could help.
