    Default Liquid Lanolin

I got the idea (from member Lazarus in another post - thanks Lazarus!) to add some liquid lanolin to my lather. Went and picked some up today and used it in place of glycerin. Great stuff. Lather wasn't much to look at (pretty "soupy") but it still gave for a great, slick shave. I assume once I correct the soupyness issue it'll only get better. I've only started using glycerin fairly recently, but at this point I'd say I much prefer the lanolin.

Only downside is it overpowers the smell of my lather, which isn't all that strong to begin with, but still this wasn't a plus. Then lanolin smell isn't offensive, but it also isn't pleasant.

What about MWF and glycerin? Best of both worlds? I did an überlather with MWF, T&H Grafton and glycerin yesterday and it was awesome.

I've been down the MWF path many times in many ways, and it just never worked for me no matter what. But maybe by adding lanolin to my non-MWF lather, I am getting the best of both worlds?

I like the way you think.

I have had the polar opposite experience with MWF, as every time I try it, it gets better, to the point where I ordered the ceramic dish and an extra puck from England. But if what you're doing works, I find it hard to argue

In fact, I am now intrigued to try this. If soap, cream and glycerin makes an überlather, what would soap, cream, glycerin and liquid lanolin make?

We'd have to ask Lazarus, because from what I understand that's what he does. I was actually going to try it (using glycerin and lanolin at the same time) but wanted to see what lanolin alone would do. I'll use them both together soon.

Where would I get my hands on liquid lanolin? Health food store? Pharmacy?

    Gents,

I've been using liquified lanolin for quite awhile. I make super lather with Tabac most often. It seems to work better with just 2 or 3 drops and a stiff brush. I put the whole tube in very hot water for a few minutes to bring it to a liquid state and add it into the mug. I can buff away 'til my heart is content without any irritation. I HIGHLY recommend this lather!

Lanisoh Nipple Cream is available in the baby section at Walmart.

I have some lanolin I got at Wholefoods and I never use more than 1 drop (thick and very consistent drop) which is plenty for me. That way it doesn't interfere with the lathering at all. Great stuff. Been using it for years.

+1 to what Max says about the one drop. The stuff has a super high viscosity and one drop could be as large as a pea.

I picked up some Lanisoh yesterday and added it to my glycerine soap lather today, and I've never used so creamy a lather before! No skin irritation, which is a real treat after the exfoliation I gave my face yesterday. Ouch.
