Pre-shave oil update: What's your favorite pre-shave oil?
This isn't opening a debate about whether you like pre-shave oils. It's assuming you do and looking for forum favorites.
What do users recommend? Thanks!

Hello, pcg,
Through the years I think I have covered the gamut of pre-shave brands and found nothing as good as Castle Forbes. It's a touch pricy, but I think worth it.

I use good old fashioned Noxzema in the blue tub. Inexpensive, lasts a long time and it works.

My best luck has been with Proraso pre-shave cream, but I have also used Noxzema.

Thanks to all.
Obie, I'll pick up some Castle Forbes. And will cross test it against its far more lowly brother, Noxema. :-)

I've tried two brands, an inexpensive Peraso and a more expensive Castle Forbes. The latter is wonderful in every way. The former works but I'm not crazy about the smell or feel on the skin. I've just order a pre shave herbal gel from Taylor of Old Bond Street...will report back.

I have tried the AOS Lavender Pre-Shave Oil as well as Noxema in the blue tub,
AOS- Works well and smells very nice, It's a bit slippery and oily and can be hard to wash off your hand after applying but it does work very well and is not too expensive (IMHO) The thing with it is that you really want to use as LITTLE as possible and it's easy to overapply.. I also use it to coat my blade when I am done since I only SR shave once a week (DE the rest of the week due to time constraints, I want the SR to be a treat,...and I'm still learning SR )
Noxema - Easy to apply, Cheap, and surprisingly works great to lubricate the face, it would be a perfect pre-shave oil for me except that I really hate the scent, I really have to rinse my face a lot (and then re hot towel it) to get the smell off before I apply my ASB
Thinking of trying the Castle Forbes
