    Default Hot towels

I love a good hot towel, but during the week i do not have time to use one. What suggestions do you guys have for a good prep without a hot towel?

My current routine is as follows

Soak brush, soap etc while showering.

During shower i wash face with a neutrogena exfoliating wash.

I wil put conditioner on my beard and let it sit for about 30 seconds.

After shower i leave face wet and splash with warm water again. I then apply my proraso pre/post cream. Load brush and face lather.

Beard still feels a bit coarse, any ideas?

    Thanks!

Just because it's sharp, does not mean it's smooth.

That's about the same routine I have. I have a pretty coarse beard as well, and what I do after the shower is apply some shave cream to my face, and massage it in. I rub kinda vigorously, then I re-lather and shave. Honestly, a nice hot shower for me does much better than just a hot towel. The towel feels nice, but so does letting the hotwater run down your face in the shower.

    Just my 2cents...

Sounds like you have a coarse beard. Can't change what God gave you. And you're pretty much at the max in regards to pre-shave routines. You can always add more steps or products, but it won't necessarily make your beard softer. Look at it this way...just imagine how tough your beard would be if you DIDN'T do your pre-shave routine.

Also...good excuse to buy a meat chopper of a razor. Yeahyuh!!

My current routine is as follows:
Soak brush in HOT charged scuttle while showering (If using soap, I put a few drops of water on the puck to soften it up)
During shower i wash face with normal soap first.
I then put conditioner on my beard and let it sit while I wash rest of body and hair
Then I rinse off the conditioner, and let HOT water run over my beard for about a minute.
After shower I leave face wet while I lather in my HOT scuttle
Splash more HOT water on beard
Apply lather to face and REALLY work it in with the brush
    Shave

I just make sure to re-splash hot water on face inbetween passes before I re-lather up

As already said i always massage the first lather in for a couple of mins, then reapply.
