Thanked: 3Musgo Real Glyce Lime Oil Soap.
Everyone,
Has anyone on here tried Musgo Real Glyce Lime Oil (MR GLO) Soap? Its advertised as a preshave product and have yet to purchase a bar to give it a try. From what I gather its simply a glycerine based soap with EO of Lime added to it. Im guessing what you are doing is simply adding glycerine molecules into the pores in order to provide a slickness to the face in order to create less drag along the face when taking a sharp blade across it. The addition of Lime EO is used simply as a product to aid in preventing minor nicks to the face. Is this a better product than just using a simple glycerine bar of soap or even rubbing into your face some liquid glycerine? Please weigh in with any reasoning behind adding this product, although inexpensive, to a den when most preparation done by most of us is simply a hot shower.
Thanks gents and ladies.

Thanked: 194There is no product out there that is described as better than the other by a vendor. It is based on personal preference. You are right about what it does though and is a great pre/post shave soap for many out there. Do a search on it and you should find many great reviews on it. It is on my wish list with Men's Wet Shaving, Grooming, Skin and Hair Care - West Coast Shaving I will post again when I finally get some to let you know what I think

I was recently given a puck of that from a friend and member here, Tarkus, who swears by the stuff and buys it in bulk! It is most effective, luxurious and really softens the beard as well. The lime scent is also very invigorating. I am now hooked on it and recommend it highly! Gotta find out where he gets it! NICE!

I use this before every shave - it contains coconut oil, lime oil and castor oil to soften whishers, and a wee bit of alcohol to help clean the pores.

Thanked: 498As sharptonn said I love this stuff. Its a mild soap but it has a hint of alcohol in it which I love being that I work in a machine shop, so it strips all the days muck out from my pores. prior to shaving. The only thing I dislike about the soap is that I have to use dynamite most of the time to release it from the cellophane wrapper other then that small dislike its all Aces.
