I don't use oil, I just use Noxzema in the blue tub.

Thanked: 334+1 on CaliforniaCajun's post. I tried oil many years ago and I found no noticeable difference. Others here have. Maybe it has more to do with the soap/creme you are using? Just saying.

Prior to switching from cartridges I found shaving oils great. Now it's just brush and lather.

I tried the AOS and just didn't like the effect. I don't think the shave was any better or worse with or without it.

For me, it's AoS Pre Shave oil. I've tried Proaso Pre Shave, and found my face and the lather tends to dry out a bit too quick. The oil works well with all creams and soaps I use and lasts for a few passes. While my pre shave routine is a bit elaborate, what with hot towels, massaging the beard with the oil and cream, more towels and so on, when I apply the oil and massage in the cream with the brush, life is good and the shave is great.

I started with some Easy Glide from Origins... didnt like it. Moved to the Proraso pre/post cream and love it.

Thanked: 3225I wondered the same thing, so I just mixed up some home brewed pre shave oil to find out for myself. Think I am going to try the Noxzema trick too. Just hoping for a little more glide, we'll see.
