I try not to drop the towel, Ace.
Depending on where you drop it, real problems can occur.

Do you think it had anything to do with my dropping it in the kitty litter?

Just try not to "throw in the towel"!

Shave right out of the shower, same results. I did the hot towel thing for a while, but even with the microwave it is a cumbersome thing. It is nice though if you can have a barber do it. Very relaxing.

    +1

I used to really push the hot towel idea (and I am not about to tell anyone NOT to do it, but....)

It was nice, but it bumped my time up along with my laundry volume, and it is not really missed that much.

All I ever did was run hot water into a towel and wring it out. Any hotter than that would have burnt me.

And, in fairness, if I shave in the evening after a soak in the tub (which is also relaxing), I will probably still use a hot towel...but I do not have space in my house for any more appliances

Yes, if you have the good water heater, that is sufficient. I use the same hand towel size for 3 shaves or so, rinsing well and hanging to dry between shaves. With a house full of women, the towel volume is tremendous!

With a house full of women everything is tremendous. Not enough bathrooms in the world! I raised 5 girls and their mother. The kids have come out fine.

Yeah, and sometimes, more often than not, hot water is scarce!

Swing by the house sometime, we can have a beer, swap horror stories and have a good cry.
