Soap and Pre Shave oils sample packs
Hi there,
Since I am pretty new to straight razor shaving I haven't really used any of the shaving soaps yet either. I was wondering if anyone could point me in a direction of some good sample packs for shaving soaps and pre-shave oils?
Thanks in advance!

Truefitt & Hill sample pack. From their website. I really like their pre shave.
Garry's Sample Shop. Google that. I think he's on vacation now though. Great source for samples.
Straight Razor Designs has a soap sampler.
Queen Charlotte does samples.
You can email New York Shaving Company for samples.
Geo F Trumper sometimes has a sample set for sale.
EShave sells a sampler.
Art of shaving has a few samplers. A lot of time they are free or on sale. Decent pre shave oil too.
Many Many companies sell travel size items. Great way to get Castle Forbes for a bit cheaper.
Try emailing companies and asking for samplers.

Sephora is selling a shaving sampler pack this season for $25 which comes with a coupon to get 1 full size item for free. The best item to get is the art of shaving shave cream tub with the coupon in my opinion (which is normally $25).
Baxter of California has a sampler pack. However the shave cream is non lathering which some people are not a fan of.Last edited by sixsixty; 12-01-2012 at 06:18 AM.

I always just ask at B&M stores if they have samples of shaving supplies. I get the feeling from the reaction of the clerks that nobody ever asks for shaving samples. I've had clerks dump double handfuls of sample packs in my hands.

I wish there was a good B&M store in the Bay Area. I can't find a single one in San Francisco or Oakland. The few good ones seemed to have gone out of business years ago. There are a few barber shops that I found that carry proraso but that's about it. Art of Shaving is everywhere, but again they sell samplers. Sephora will make you a sample but they have a limited selection of good stuff. I haven't seen a single place in the area that carries anything like CF, TH, GFT, TOBS anything really.

I bought a ton of Mama Bear's samples. The only problem with their stuff is that I wanna eat it cause they smell so good.

B&M stores that sell men's shaving products are in surprising places. My wife frequents a store called Ulta that has a well stocked men's shaving section. Upscale department store are also a good place to find products. I've found both to hand out samples freely.
