    Default Hot shower

Will a hot shower give me enough time to shave multiple body areas and my face or do I have to wet every area as I go along? Let's say for ex. that after the hot shower the first thing that I shave are my legs, then my armpits etc. the face being the last thing. Do I have to apply a hot towel or shower again or maybe put some conditioner on my face while I shave other body areas? I'm asking this because all I've ever used is electric shavers.

I reckon you'll be fine as long as you rinse each area as you get to it & build a good lather. No need for multiple showers. If you like hot towels, go for it - but I prefer cold shaving, so I'm not going to recommend it. If you find the simple approach doesn't quite cut it for you then you might try preshave oil on the face & let it sit while you work the other areas.

Most of all, though, keep in mind that what works for some of us won't necessarily work for all of us. So, start simple, see if it satisfies you, and if it doesn't then add new elements (one at a time, so to control your variables) until you arrive at a routine that suits you.

i cold shave as well so i dont find a problem. If you like hot sha ving i'd go with the warm towl method, easier and less hassle.

IME a hot shower makes shaving more comfortable but will not make-or-break a good shave.

The purpose of the shower/shampoo is to hydrate the hair to make it easy to cut. It is a highly effective way to clean and hydrate hair so that the lather can interact well with the hair. As hair drys, it becomes harder to cut, but cleaned hydrated hair can be freshened up by the reapplication of water or moist lather.

Other hydration methods, such as serial face washes and rinses before lathering also work. Whatever effectively cleans and hydrates your hair is OK. Once the hair is well hydrated, additiional cleaning probably provides no additional benefit.

I wonder if applying conditioner on the face and on the body areas that I plan to shave last while I shave other body areas will work. Let's say that it will take about 15-20 minutes while I shave body areas. Will leaving conditioner for that long soften the hairs as good as a hot towel or a shower?

Well cleaned, conditioned, and hydrated hair that has been drying a short time should rehydrate easily. Apply water and then lather. Keep your lather wet.

Try it! I think you'd be fine just leaving it alone, then rinsing each area as you come to it. But if that won't work for you, experiment to see what does. None of the suggested methods will harm you, for sure. Just start simple and then elaborate from there, so you don't get stuck in a needlessly complicated routine.

It is quite common for the beard to present more challenges than other body hair. I can cut my arm hair with a sharp blade and no prep. I cannot do that to my beard.
The tale is doon, and God save al the rowte!
