    Lightbulb Squeaky clean....

    On latherin....

One childhood memory rang true for me today.
My Mom would ask "Is your hair squeaky clean?" when
we were small enough to take a bath unattended.

I noted today that my hair was "squeaky clean" when I was
done scrubbing my face and shampooing my hair. Then
while shaving I noted that this was yet again another darn
    fine shave.

For so many of us lathering is big bucks for big pucks,
big scuttles, and big badger brushes but a good shave mostly depends
on nicely softened whiskers. This takes water.... and squeaky
clean whiskers is part of this.

The squeaky clean bit is a reminder that natural oils and
added oils protect whiskers from moisture and limit the
ability of the whisker to take up water and soften. By cleaning
whiskers of these otherwise protecting oils hair
will squeak when pulled between two fingers as well as take
    up softening moisture.

My soap this morning was a classic bar soap: Kirk's Original Coco Castile Soap
Castile soaps just use vegetable oils i.e. no tallow or lard. I suspect any
clean well well made natural soap will do the same job as long is it gets
    you whisker hair squeaky clean.

Wash your face with a good clean soap (I was in the shower)....
now rinse with clear water and towel off enough to not leave a slip and slide
    puddle on the bathroom floor.

Build then apply a nice shave lather and enjoy the shave. Some will
want to start by pre-soaking the brush and getting the surface of the puck
    wet before the shower.

If you want to condition your hair or body with one of those oil rich
"care" products jump back in the shower for a min and do so
    after the shave.

Hmmm, I like the order of events. I was thinking when I do start the process of SR shaving, that Ill just wash my face with my acne soap or whatever I'm using, then use regular soap and hot water on my whiskers to soften them up, and after that just shaving when I get out of the shower. Thanks for the info!
