Rosacea & a Straight Razor
Hi all. I hope this thread helps people with Rosacea,or sensitive skin. I was told my doctor not to use soap on my face, but use Cetaphil for gentle skin. When I 1'st started using a Straight razor I found that it was flaring up my Rosacea, with experimenting with different soaps and creams, and nothing helped I was getting frustrated.
One day I was thinking about the problem, I thought of trying the Cetaphil as a pre-shave. Guess what happened, IT WORKED !!!!! No more flare ups. I truly hope this helps someone else.
P.S. It does not keep you from building a great lather.

Hi fellow Rosacea recipient. After much expletive, teeth gnashing sub vocal comments about my dermatologist and their high priced prescriptions and many months of various treatments, both Rx and folk, I have arrived at the following process.
I have been using Neutrogena T-Sal shampoo for many years. It contains 3% salicylic acid, a known reliever of Rosacea visible traces. It finally occurred to me that I could use it on more than my scalp. When I shower in the morning I also use it as a face scrub. I don't rinse it off till I've used Cetaphil as a body wash and then wash my face with the Cetaphil. That's in the morning. Shortly before I go to bed I use a small amount of T-Sal as a facial, leaving it on over night. Doing this consistently has almost eliminated flare ups, keeping them to a minor level, if any at all. I use a little bit of Cremo or Kiss My Face as a pre shave.
Being on a limited budget I use the other brans(s) of Cetaphil, namely Sun Mark or Xtracare, saving several dollars per bottle."The sharpening stones from time to time provide officers with gasoline."
