Thank you! That is WAY cool Matt! I am really excited to hear more about your Shaving Soap!!! After making up this Beard Oil it got me thinking that Shave Soap, Beard Oil, etc Making at a Meet would be a blast where each person brings one Scent and the other Soap Ingredients then everyone gets to mix/match and experiment with all the options. I have close to 80% or more of my Scents left but used the Argan Oil so have enough to do this batch (4 One Ounce Bottles) many times over were I to grab the Argan Oil.

Great/funny memory about my first run with toothpowder... I was hassling my Grandma about trying it and think I was 9 or so... She shows me how, admonishing me to be careful... After which I promptly overload a too-dry brush, put it in my mouth excitedly as I inhale then reduce to a coughing/choking fit!

I agree Beard oil is expensive! I did the same thing as you and made my own with Jojoba oil, Coconut oil, Grape seed oil. Worked as intended and also as a pre-shave oil. I also made some stache wax out of Bees wax and coconut oil 50/50 mix. Although I usually don't sport a stache I do sport a goat-tee, doesn't provide great hold but keeps things looking well groomed and it doubles as a lip balm (minus the girly looking shine) winner in my book. I didn't mess with the E.O's

@Timmy72... Thanks for sharing! I like that combination you posted and I already have the Coconut Oil as we use it for my Dog. Never thought about making my own Lip Balm but sounds straightforward as well. Wish I would have known about this stuff when I was a teenager... I would have saved a MINT! ;-)

I was trying to make mustache wax, and had seen one afternoon on TV that Dr. Oz had recommended Coconut oil instead of lip balm - so I thought why not try it..... I have coconut oil mixed with the beeswax. One product, two issues solved....I think over use of lip balms (commercial) actually will peel the skin away if used a lot.

This 50/50 mix sets up quite hard, so just like mustache wax you'll have to scrap it out with your finger nail. Keeping it in your pocket keeps it more pliable.
The beard oil I use in the winter as an aftershave/moisturizer. The oils absorb well (take it easy on the coconut oil) and kept my face and scalp from drying out, but wasn't greasy like a lot of balms I've used.

Not to revive an old thread, but I was going to make a post on doing your own beard oil and it was basically the same as this one.
I used jojoba oil as the base then just add scents. It crazy how much money you can save for creating the same thing. The only difference I've seen is that the store bought oils are clear and mine is hazy, so maybe they put some sort of clarifier, but who cares - doesn't matter how it looks.
I also did one with coconut oil as the base. You end up with a semi-solid form that I keep in a tin. Since it has a super low melting point, once it hits your hands it melts and just rub it in.
Now I want to do a mustache wax...

Coconut Oil is a great idea... I think I still have some left to try with.

I am just barely running out of the set of 4 oils I made so they last a really long time.

The one combo that was a little different was Nag Champa + Sandalwood... It had some mild reaction, turned cloudy and ended up smelling like a Musky Baby Powder... Not terrible as a scent but definitely not what I was after. So, gotta come up with a new one... Probably Lime Sandalwood or Sandalwood Lime.
