Thanked: 3I'm defenitley a alcohol based aftershave lover. When I shaved with cartridge blades I alway's used a common ASB like Nivea or such. When I started experimenting with classic shaving I also started using alcohol containing after shaves. Haven't gone back since except.... this morning I tried the Nivea ASB again and razor burn allover which didn't stopped until I took a plunge in the Proraso Menthol Eucalyptus AS.

Thanked: 22Mbeckner, great article...
I had posted this @ the "other" site, hope you enjoy.
So I've been doing some research, prompted by my
experience using Pinuad Clubman. Since starting to
use it several months ago, my skin has increasingly
been looking older. I generally have had a
handsome, well aging face since I can remember,
though the big 40 is a month and a half away. At
first I was thinking that it must be me just getting
older, but each time after using the clubman
alcohol based product, my skin looked aged.
After delving into these queries, I started looking @
links between alcohol based skin products and
aging skin. Some very interesting facts have come
to light regarding my searching for answers. In
short, we are stripping away natural lipids, proteins,
enzymes, and antioxidants, ENCOURAGING free
radicals to bombard our skins.
We also need to remember that the skin (though
we're talking about facial skin) is the largest organ
of your body. Limit alcohol consumption, wear
sunscreen, eat well and don't smoke cigarettes.
Here are just a couple links to get you started on
helping you to make an informed decision. I
encourage you to continue your own research, as
well. Though I've posted in the Clubman threads,
sadly I can no longer endorse using the AS's. I love
the smell but if prematurely aging my skin is the
effect, it's not woth it, imho.

Many a time, I have to admit that Thayer's super medicated witch hazel is/was my AS.

Thanked: 22Hirlau, too funny my man, lol. I really love the Clubman scent, just really dries and ages me. What works for one may not work for the other; looks like the Pinaud is doing wonders for you though. It's like the fountain of youth, dude, lol.
