I've not tried any DRH products yet; but I very much like the TOBS scents you mentioned. Especially Eton College.

I've been on such a sandalwood kick that it has been difficult to work through all my samples. I bought the AOS bath soap. It is rather expensive so I've try to limit it to weekend only use. You can probably imagine how that is going. Yes, weekends are 4-5 days long now in my house. I've started looking for less costly alteratives and have a bar of Mysore Sandal Soap coming in the mail. My understanding is that the scent of this soap is as authentic as it gets and for good reason. I'm also interested in Bee and Flower sandalwood soap. It gets good reviews and had nice packaging. Mistral/Mistril is another one that looks like a possibility. Any comments from those who have tried these soaps are welcome. I even bought incense sticks and a burner today. Haven't used in sense since college.

I really like what I understand is the authentic, Santalum Album scent. Of the sandalwood creams I've tried AOS and Proraso are head and shoulders above the rest. TOBs sandal wood has been described as "flowery" and I can't disagree. It performs well but isn't sandalwood to me. GFT is a nice smelling cream, but again no sandalwood. The skin food seems a bit more "sandalwoody" though. EJ smells more like cedar than anything else to me. Can anyone make comments about the "sandalwoodyness" of other products? Castleforbes perhaps? I've heard that QED made great sandalwood soap but no longer produces it.

I would love to find a sandalwood shampoo, deordorant, etc., that smells the way I would like it to. Nothing that I have seems to last more than a few minutes. I'm thinking about buying the AOS EDT or a bottle of Floris sandalwood off of eBay. Both are quite expensive.

Any one else daydream about their favorite scents while at work? What are they?
I LOVE me some sandalwood! I have TOBS sandalwood shaving cream, I dont have the aftershave balm, so I rub a little of the shave cream into my skin.

I wish I liked the TOBS sandalwood more because they have so many products in that line. Deodorant, soap, shampoo. I'd be in heaven. Just doesn't do it for me though.

I ordered samplers of tam dao EDT & EDP. They should arrive Thursday. Not knowing much about perfumery I have a question. Do I apply them both the same way and how do I apply them? Do I spray a "cloud" and walk through it? Do I apply it to the pulse points? Any idea how long each will last?

Also ordered a bar of Bee and Flower sandalwood soap. Received and used the Mysore soap yesterday. Not what I was expecting but, I think it would grow on me. It may not get the chance as my wife wants me to toss it. It does fill up the bathroom with its scent and it does linger on the skin. SWIMBO was in the bedroom around the corner from the bathroom and asked me if I was burning incense. Good thing I bought the export quality and not the premium which supposedly has a stronger scent.

I have a sandalwood cologne, and as gugi says, if it spray a bit on when dressed the smell lasts for days, i found that it lasts better on sweaters than t shirts, i susspect its just that the fabric is thicker.

Received my Tam Dao samplers and I love this fragrance! Tried the EDT last night and I caught the scent periodically for a few hours. Don't think I could smell it when I went to bed, but could have sworn I smelled it for a second this morning when I woke up. Applied the EDP at 6AM and was still catching whiffs of it after 11AM. Couldn't say after that as I smelled like oil. Going out to dinner with friends tonight and I can't wait to where it! I'm assuming it is a synthetic scent(please correct me if I am wrong), but even still it is amazing.
