Thanked: 1Best Pre Shave oils
So I have only tried the Art of Shaving Unscented pre shave oil. Rather unimpressed up until today when I used more oil the previously, 2 pumps instead of 1 and was greatly impressed by the improvement. I saw a thread here earlier about preferred pre shave oils, but can't find it again so I will just start a new one here.
Now that I am convinced to keep going with the pre shave oil beyond this bottle, what do you all prefer or recommend? Scent does not matter greatly, in fact, I prefer unscented so it does not mix with my after shave (for more info on that, see my thread about QueenBee Apothecary after shave).

With the Art of Shaving pre-shave oil, all you need is an amount the size of nickel. Let your brush, soap or cream do the rest for a proper preparation. Two pumps might be overdoing it.
I don't use oils as pre-shaves. My regular pre-shave is Castle Forbes, a water soluble cream that is a delight. Years ago, however, I tested a variety of pre-shave oils and found Truefitt & Hill's top of the line.

Thanked: 1Two pumps is barely the size of a dime, let alone a nickel.

Musgo Real is actually a pretty good pre shave oil in my experience.

Thanked: 44Try jojoba oil by itself, available from health food stores. If you want cheaper, grape seed oil works well too, although its a bit thicker.
