Yeah, I know it's in many of the Creeds and I like and have some of them, but I am thinking something where it's not a tertiary component in the blend but more like the dominating note.

I would imagine when you consider the cost of Ambergris It's highly unlikely that you or I could afford a bottle if Ambergris were the dominating note.

This is the one that I have a small sample of:

I believe the 50ml bottle was $200 and this is tom ford, private reserve, eau de parfum, and absolute - pretty much every single thing that adds expense is there.
It's expensive but I can most definitely afford a whole 50ml bottle which would last me a couple of lifetimes, the problem is that it's too formal and so I'm thinking something with prominent ambergris, but in a blend so that it's more wearable. That should make it less expensive, I'd say $100 for 50ml is a price point I'd expect for this kind of fragrance and while the bulk of what I have are half as expensive ($100-ish for 100ml) I have a number at that range too.

I like Tom Ford I have the Black Orchid EDP by Tom Ford, but looking at that Amber Absolute and the notes it's definitely one I would love to try.

I watched that one too, and could not believe what I saw. They lost 10s of thousands, that was a motherload of ambergris. Judging by the scent description, it might not have been ripe though, but still. Definately not illegal, no whales are harmed in the harvest of it.

To Gugi; I love ambergris. There is one that you might look into, it is called Molecule 02 by Escentric Molecules. It is not made from real ambergris, in stead it is made from a single aroma chemical that is the closest match to natural ambergris known to science. It is lovely, and I use it a lot, both for special occations and for everyday use, in summer as in winter. I find it plain lovely.
