    Default Ambergris

It's the middle of the summer, but today the weather is what I consider 'perfect' 20C/68F, so it got me thinking about a fragrance that's more suitable for cooler weather.
It's ambergris, which is more or less well aged whale vomit.

I've got a smallish amount (may be 25ml) of Tom Ford's private collection series (don't remember the exact name), and I rather like it. The problem is that it's very refined and formal, and I don't find it appropriate for anything that isn't 'special occasion'. It's also fairly expensive, but I tend to use so little that this isn't an important factor.

So, anybody else partial to ambergris fragrances? Any recommendations for good ones that may be suitable for daily wear? I think it's more often used in women's blends and those don't work for me, but I do very well with unisex type scents.

It comes up on the beach every once in a blue moon and it is worth a small fortune if you find it.

Cool! I'm not familiar with the scent. I'm going to be looking out for this stuff the next time I'm walking on the beach
I love the cool stuff that I learn about on this site.

Of course it's expensive. You know how much beer you need to make a whale paralytic?
