    Default Pre/Post Routine

There's definitely a post here about what your routine is but I'm newer here and I'd like to hear from you guys what your pre/post routine is. I'm currently on a budget so this is a probably one of the cheapest set ups to have but it seems to work great for me. I usually shower first or apply a steaming hot towel, then I like to put on Proraso pre shave cream, super invigorating for the skin and really helps to wake the face up especially in the mornings. Then I usaully lather up with Williams Mug Soap, I can't seem to get over the simple yet elegant scent. After my passes, cold water rinse and then I like to use Aqua Velva Ice Blue (this is probably my favorite scent on the planet.) Then once I air dry that I use a moisturizer made by lush called Cosmetic Lad. Its a post shave moisturizer that leaves your face feeling soft and the scent is subtle and mixes with the Aqua Velva in a great way, not overpowering at all.

    Welcome to SRP, Zach.

You'll find lots of such links in the Pre-Shave forum.

Cheers and enjoy the journey. We are a sprawling, yet tight and supportive bunch.

    Regards,

    Simon

Hot water in the scuttle and brush in the water while I brush teeth.
Strop the days razor, and run hot water on a towel
Replace the hot water in the scuttle and shake out the brush
Hot towel for the face while I create the lather
Lather the face and reapply a freshen hot towel
    Lather shave
MST Müller Water Hone Ultra-fine natural blue water hone in high quality for the final hone of straight razors, scalpels, knives, edge tools, butcher knives.
Meanwhile, from nearby in the same Thuringian quarry as the Original EscherStone comes a new supply of black to grey-blue colored raw material. Like the Original Escher Hone, the new MST Müller material is composed of pure powder-like quartz, embedded in chalk.

Simple routine here, no pre shave just splash face with could water, face lather and shave. Post is alum block, a good cold water rinse to get rid of the alum, pat face dry and apply after shave. Done.

I have Williams soap and only use it to give me a fresh appreciation of how good my other soaps really are including the lowly Arko.

I bought a puck of williams 6 or 7 months ago. I can't bring myself to use it. I have at least 4 years worth of wonderful soaps and crenels to use before I will consider opening it

If you're on a tight budget Zach try replacing the Proraso Pre/Post cream with Noxzema (the classic eucalyptus cream, not the new "moisturizing" version. Stuff smell like baby powder! )
