Hi All,
i've been shaving with SRs for the last month or so. was getting decent results with MRGLOW preshave soap followed by shaving cream (GFT or CRS sandlwood) with either a Dovo Lowe or a Theirs Issard Le Legende - close and mostly comfortable but not BBS. I wanted to try something different, so i got a nice Simpson X2L best badger brush (my old one was an inexpensive vulfix thats been shedding since purchased 5 yrs ago) and the well-reviewed eshave preshave oil in orange sandalwood. I had them for a week, but i waited till today to finally open and use - on my 30th SR shave! [yes, i keep a diary ]

I used about 4 to 6 drops of oil and massaged it into my beard, then lathered with new simpson brush and the Slayter sandlwood cream). Shave 3 passes, 2 with grain, 1 against. the TI razor felt very smooth on the first pass. I was thinking about applying the oil again after each pass, but i could still feel it on my skin when i rinsed with warm water between passes. I was most impressed with the third against-the-grain pass. Normally, i get a bit of tugging when going against the grain, but today, there was none of that. End result is my smoothest shave ever with a SR.

This is my first time shaving with the oil, and in all fairness, it is hard to tell if it is the oil, the new brush, or a synergistic combination of the two. Either way, very happy with this combo.

cheers and happy holidays all. Now i know what BBS is all about!
