Chiseled Face-Ghost Town Barber
Chiseled Face-Ghost Town Barber
I just tried my first aftershave from Chiseled Face-Ghost Town Barber. The scent is described as: “…..a classic barbershop scent with a western twist – main notes being bergamot, basil leaf, white patchouli, oakmoss, Texas cedar, leather, smoke, and gunpowder.” I really like this scent! My skin feels great! It also has just the right amount of menthol. I got this bottle from Maggard’s, but they also have their own web-site.
Ingredients: Alcohol, Witch Hazel, Aloe Vera Juice, Calendula, Sodium Lactate, Menthol, Menthol, Vitamin B5 Pro, Astaxanthin

Thanked: 1184I am wondering about the alcohol. I just use witch hazel which has a small amount of alcohol in it. Barely a sting in an open cut. Is the percentage in this a minor amount ?
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Thanked: 2Haven't tried the after shave ... but I have to say I really like the Ghost Town Barber soap, both the performance and the scent.

Thanked: 220I bet it does have a good scent given the description. Is it one of them real "face burners", or is it fairly mild? With a name like that, you would expect it to have some bite to it.

It is not a "stinger", even though Alcohol is the first ingredient listed. The menthol is just right for me.

Thanked: 20Hello fellow members. I have tried many of the Chiseled Face Groomatorium (CFG) products. To answer Jerry's question, while there is a good amount of alcohol, I don't find that it stings any worse, and actually quite a bit less that many other AS splashes. I think the amount of menthol in it helps temper the "bite".
I just acquired a full tub of the shave soap from another forum member so now I have the full size Ghost Town Barber and Trade Winds. I have the sample sizes of Sandlewood, Sherlock and Cryogen. The Ghost Town Barber is really a unique scent. I think Ron the owner of CFG enjoys creating scents that spark memories and emotions. The Ghost Town Barber smell initially hits you with the smell of a campfire (It was darned near DEAD on to smoke smell from a brush fire near my house a few weeks ago) and then the secondary notes of Bergamot and cedar come through. If you grew up in Southern California,or ever attended Knott's Berry Farm and went into some of the old buildings, you will know the smell of this shave cream. He copied that experience in a shave soap/after shave scent.
The only sadness I have is, Ron uses the same soap formula for all his soap and I do not know if it's the soap or the brands of Fragrance/Essential oils he uses but my face seems to have an issue with irritation from it. Annoys me because all of the factors we look for (Lather/cushioning/slickness/post shave) are great! I haven't heard of others having irritation issues so I think I am just a sissy
