Thread: Scent Memories and Musk

This morning I had an amazingly strong scent memory. Seconds after waking I was hit with the memory of a scent my father used. It was a musk! I think it was Jovan or an Avon musk. My father died several years back and because of his emphysema hadn't worn any scents for years before that.


This morning though, I could even remember what the bottle looked like. I wasn't even completely awake yet, and that somehow made the memory even stronger. Probably because there were no distractions. Of course now I have to try and find a musk scent.


Old or new I don't care. I just want to find one really good musk that can trigger a memory like that. Any recommendations for a reasonable priced musk scent?

Jovan Musk for Men is stll available, in fact I bought some from Amazon last year. Aqua Velva makes a Musk that is a bit "more reasonable" and has a very similar scent but the scent doesn't seem to last as long.

Because I rotate the Jovan with three other scents, that 8 ounce bottle lasts about four years. This makes the cost insignificant in my mind so I go with the good stuff.

Aqua Velva or Skin Bracer Musk are decent, & cheap enough to dump if you don't like them. Also easily found in most drugstores.

Yes, and I can find Jovan Musk AS at the same Wally World store as the Aqua Velva stuff locally.
