Default Aftershave VS Eau De Toilette/Cologne

I understand the scent differences between them which is one of longevity. What I want to know is whether the Eau de Toilette or Cologne will give the same toning and moisturizing effect of the aftershave. I only have two straight up aftershaves, Lee and TOBS 74. Just like the advertisements, they both sooth and give me the feeling of firming and moisturizing with a pleasant but not very long lasting scent. It's a longer lasting scent I'm after and wondering if I could get both the aftershave benefits and longer lasting scent in one product.

Personally I don't think you can use an EDT/Cologne in lieu of an aftershave. I think they are mainly for a longer lasting scent and not designed to be slapped on the face.

I think the primary ingredient in aftershaves that tone the skin is Alcohol, unless the aftershave also contains witch hazel. In that case EDT should have plenty of alcohol and would likely work similarly. I think the strong odor should be a deterrent for making this a common practice though.

Yes, EDTs/Cologne seem to have plenty of alcohol content. Just put some on your freshly shaven face for the max stinging effect, much more than an AS would give you.

When using cologne/EDT, a little goes a long way--a full-out face splash may leave a scent that is overwhelming.

You could try Joop Homme. It's an aftershave that has a very long lasting scent.
