Thanked: 5Additional use for preshave oil
For the past month and a half or so I have been using a home made preshave oil. My mix is mostly olive oil, with about 25% sweet almond oil and scents of cedarwood, pine needle, and eucalyptus. It has been great for me for shaving.
Las week I caught a wicked head cold and went through 3 boxes of tissue in 2 days. This left my nose pretty raw which is often the result of any head cold with me. As I was going through my Medicine cabinet looking for a lotion to put on my nose to soften it up a little I thought, "Hey, this does wonders on my neck and face, why wouldn't it do the same for my nose." Sure enough it worked better than any lotion I have ever used. I believe the fact that I use Eucalyptus in the mix helped a ton. The oil mix moisturized my nose and cleared up the nasty crusty skin, and the eucalyptus in the mix actually helped with the runny/stuffy nose.
It was a great "Happy experiment" experience. Thought I would share as it is getting into that season for most of us here in the colder climates.
Has anyone else had similar experiences in finding additional uses for their pre/post solutions? Or am I the only one who thinks putting shave solutions on the nose is a good idea?
