I have Barberry Coast Bay Rum and it sets me on fire. I've only used it twice. Even after several hours, my face is still irritated...

That could quite easily be but then again who would want that experience if it is like yours. I don't really care for the bay rum scent of either of the two I have.

Maybe it's a sensitivity to the cinnamon and clove is the mix?

That's what I attributing the burning from bay rums for me, anyway.

You must have very sensitive skin then. I use it and the only things that are set on fire are the women who I hang with.Name: 324ca6b048635dc1426ce9fd87fabf25.jpg

I actually like the burning sensation. I use Ogallala double strength Bay Rum and it gives a very good, fresh, likable burn.

The Clubman has so much alcohol in it, that's the culprit.

I use Clubman Bay Rum after honing to measure its sharpness. No burn=job well done.

I have a friend with a Barber Shop here in St. Joe IL. he also makes all kinds of vintage shaving & hair products. He makes his "Wicked Rascal" products with no alcohol. My wife got me a bottle of his Bay Rum elixir & I really enjoy it. He also makes a real nice shave soap that I just purchased yesterday. It's not Bay Rum but has a real nice aroma & is a great shave soap.
    Check him out at wickedrascal.com
He is opening a new 3 chair shop in Urbana IL. doing full shaves & all the old fashioned ways the Barbers of old did things. Check out his site & products. If you are around the area stop in his shop for a great hair cut, shave & conversation. Veterans get a discount & he does a great flat top!
That said I love Clubman products & have ordered there Bay Rum.
