Default Best after shave lotion/balm for razor burn?

After a normal shave without irritation, I too use often Nivea cream.
You cannot beat the ordinary classic (blue pot or tin) Nivea for price and quality, but if you want something that is also cheap but feels less greasy initially (but won't protect quite as long) try Nivea Soft.
There is also the recently introduced "Nivea Men" range that combines the advantages of the classic Nivea and Nivea Soft and was formulated especially "for men" but which is much pricier.
Nivea classic and Soft work well enough for me.

But for skin irritations, I found that baby creams like Penaten, or other creams that contain zinc, are much better to help irritated skin to recover.
Penaten is a truly amazing skin product that like classic Nivea has been around for longer than I care to remember. (I am 63 now and my mom used it on me when I was in my diapers.) Most of these will make you look rather white in your face (think Japanese Kabuki theatre), so this I nothing I would care too cross a busy street with, but if you apply it in the evening (or small doses on the affected neck area in the morning) it will help your skin to heal and within a few hours the white is all disappeared and your skin will feel much better.

Think about it this way: Whatever works on a baby's butt with a rash, can also work on your face. (Just make sure your get to use the cream first.) :-)
