    Default Almond Smelling Shaving Balm?

I have some Geo. F. Trumpers ALMOND shaving cream and love it for it's beautiful fragrance. It seems to dry a bit quicker than I would like but a hot wet shaving brush quickly revives it.

Now I'd like a comment from those of you that may have used an after shave balm that has a rich smell of Almonds. Love the smell. I have Ogallala Bay Rum sage & Cedar after shave along with Joop (mostly alcohol) but was looking for something more moisturizing, and since I used Almond smelling soap, I thought I'd like to see if there is a good Almond based balm out there as well.

I also love the smell of Almonds, if you find that your Trumpers is drying out a little you should give the Trufitt and Hill Almond shaving cream a go. I think it performs better and IMHO smells better too.

I think that you might struggle to find an almond balm though. There don't seem to be many options around. D.R. Harris make an almond oil skinfood, but I can't speak to the quality of it as I have never tried it. That said I use their soap and it is very good.

Good luck with your search, I am quite interested to see if anything comes up on this one.

Meißner Tremonia's aftershave balms, along with Baume.be's, are the best in the market. And they have an almond one, too, but with some wood in it. I would still definitely give it a try: Woody Almond – Aftershave Balm.

I've also looked, albeit more than a decade ago. I often shave with Cyril R Salter Almond shaving cream (magnificent!), and wanted a matching ASB. Didn't find anything... nor an almond-scented EDT/EDP -- so I opted to look for an ASB that matched the afterscent I chose (either Paloma Picasso Paloma Picasso for Men, or Burberry Brit for Men.) Never found one in the Paloma Picasso line, but Brit for Men does have a companion ASB.

PS: The Brit for Men ASB is wonderful: (to me) it has a pleasant aroma, thick texture, is quickly absorbed, non-greasy, and is unbelievably moisturizing. Even though it's eminently affordable (3.3oz each of the EDT, cleansing gel, and ASB, in the low-to-mid $40s), I've found that "a little goes a LONG way."

    Good luck on your quest!

You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

Well, in the meantime I "invented" an aftershave balm of my own. I took Udder Cream from Udderly Smooth for soft smooth skin – which was originally destined for milking cows and milkers hands, and has become so popular you can find it at most Walmart, Walgreens and other stores. I took some of it and put it in a small squeeze bottle and added some Almond Extract to it. It then became a lot more liquid, but applying to the face after the shave makes the skin feel replenished, soft and, yes, baby-butt smooth, and now has a hint of almond.

I love Joop cologne, and guess I could easily just apply the Udder Cream to my face and then spray a small amount of Joop into my hand and apply to the fresh and still wet Udder Cream to give it that kind of lingering fragrance.

Interesting. How exactly does your concoction compare to Bäume.be and Meißner Tremonia? And why exactly?

It is 100% better. The lotion is useful for dry and irritated skin, is used by dairy workers as well as invented by a Phamacist, and here the the "why" exactly. I already have Udder Cream and Almond Extract in the house. It's paid fer, as an old friend used to tell me. Jars of this stuff is not expensive here in Michigan, $3.46 at Walmart for a 12 oz. (340g) tub and it works. Besides never tried nor heard of Bäume.be or Meißner Tremonia before and I don't think the local Walmart carries it.

I close shaved tonight with Feather SS non-folding and Feather Pro Soft Guard blade and used it post shaving. Feels wonderful.

Thanks. Looks enticicing, but at $72.00 for 100 ml. I am going to have to pass. If you look at the ingredients, you may find it not much different than what is in the Udderly Smooth body cream. Looks like nice reviews at westcoast shaving (2 reviews).

When I first started shaving, back in the early 1970s we had Aqua Velva, Old Spice and just a very few others to choose from at the drug store in Oshkosh, NE. Still like the scent of Old Spice. But nowadays there seems to be a huge selection of very exotic balms and creams. I'm wondering if there was anything made in America that had Almond smell to it.
