    Default Aqua Velva, Baby

My wife and I were at ShopKo two days ago buying diapers for our youngest, and since the shaving stuff is near the diaper aisle, I paid it a visit. It consisted mostly of multi-blade cartridge razors and shave gel and cheap foam, but a bottle of Aqua Velva caught my eye. I recall a bottle of this stuff sitting on the bathroom counter in the late '60s, early '70s (yeah, I'm an old fart with young kids), and the scent reminds me of my dad. At $3.50, I figured what the heck.

I ignored the stuff for a couple of days and used it for the first time today. Ain't bad, really, but I think it's an acquired taste. What shocked me was the burn. You guys who consistently use alcohol-based after shave have my respect.

I love this stuff. In today's modern world with everyone running around smelling like they just visited the perfume counter at Macy's; it's nice to be a bit of a throw back to simpler times.

Osage rub ehh...where do you find it. I was just going to ask if anyone knew of a good menthol A.S. too. Thanks for the tip.

If you put salt around the rim and a paper umbrella in it, it will taste better! Actually, back in the 70's a guy in my unit actually would drink it if he was hard up.

Well, I reckon you'd have good breath, but it'd be mighty harsh going down.

He was one of old hard line sergeant alcoholics. It put down some mighty strange stuff. I wasn't about to check his breath.
