You should all be ashamed of yourselves... thanks to your mischievous and antagonistic influences I'm now the owner of BOTH Layrite no. 9 and Captain's Choice Bay rum. They're both great and so far I've been very pleased with them.

Thanked: 12Hi:
Would you happen to have a list of on-line vendors that sell the after shaves you have so kindly listed above? Joe

I would like to add to the third group, my homemade Bay Rum. It is made from a genuine seven years old Jamaican Rum and it is the only alcohol used in it.
As I love Bay Rum aftershaves, I experimented quite a lot on its making and, so far, this is the batch I like the most.

Just received a bunch of leaves in the mail. Time to start playing with a recipe or two!
The easy road is rarely rewarding.

Somewhere in between.
Actually not so easy to find them. I finally resorted to the internet. I wound up ordering from Thummim Farms. It turns out they are in Barbados. Paid through paypal and waited then waited some more. Finally, at a month I emailed them about the order. I received an immediate reply that they had been waiting for "fresh, good quality leaves" and they were shipping that day.
The reply was from Kirk Douglas...immediately the antennae went up smelling scam. But in the greater scheme of things the money at risk was low, so I waited and then waited some more. Finally the envelope arrived. The leaves were in a padded mailer, then inside a zip lock bag and I knew what was in the mail box before opening by the scent! Mailing from Barbados to Arizona is in excess of 2 weeks for an envelope...
I am happy with what I received and will see about properly drying these leaves. I think I have a several year supply and that would include giving away AS to lots of people. The easy road is rarely rewarding.

Fresh leaves are better if you want to keep the best aroma of Bay. Getting fresh bay leaves in Italy is very hard if not impossible!
