Thanked: 0colognes and aftershave choices
I would like to know the general rule on colognes and aftershaves for summer and winter and so on.What I mean is do you choose citrus types in summer or what?

Thanked: 32There aren't any rules really, just preferences. Some people like different scents for every season and some are content with Aqua Velva all year long. I think citrus is very popular in warmer weather though.

For some reason, I like my bay rum more in summer. in winter I lean more towards the vanilla. The pinaud classic and some of my more pricey colognes are year-round, depending on occasion and mood...

I've never heard of any rule or set convention, like the old no-white-after-Labor-Day thing. At least I hope there's not ... my life's too complicated, and I'm too easily confused, as it is. I just slap on some Pinaud Clubman, if anything, most days, summer or winter.

I do not think that there is any rule as to when to wear what fragrence. I tend to wear the same fragrences year round.

I do prefer citrus or type scents in the warmer months. In colder weather, I like warmer, woodsier scents. Bay Rum works all the time for me as does Tabac and Vetiver. YMMV. Try some and see what you like.

In warmer months I usually use La Toja or Proraso A/S.
During colder months I tend to use more spanish Floid A/S.
