    Default alum?

Am i wrong to think that i could use this instead of an alum block? i already use it as a deodorant and i think (or hope) that it works fine. I think its the same material/crystal and for some reason i feel as the form factor is suitable for travel. Also, the spray seems like something that might have some practical applications in the shaving world if it is the same as the material used to make alum blocks.

It doesn't actually say what its made of. Many of the xtls made for under arm use contain ammonium alum as opposed to potassium alum. If its the ammonium variant I wouldn't use it.

I just looked at the one i have at home too and it also says ammonium alum. Whats the difference anyway? Is ammonium alum really bad for the skin? Either way, i picked up the spray that's made with potassium alum. For some reason I like the thought of a spray. Would it make any sense at all to mix a couple of spritzes with the lather?

Try it, but alum kills lather, AFAIK. Can't see it helping glide much either!
