Thanked: 0Anybody discovered Aleo Vera yet?
Hi
I have sensitive skin and always manage to get shave burn after having a quicky with my trusty mac111.
After suffering for years I think I have FINALLY found a solution......Aleo Vera gell. Not scented or mixed with some other crap, just plain old Aleo Vera gell (about £4.50 from the chemist). Just applyas an after shave moisturiser, FANTASTIC!
Any takers to try so that my notion can be given credance?

My brother has been using aloe vera in lieu of shaving cream for some years now. He uses cartridge razors

I use an organic aloe vera gel for times when my honing of a razor isn't up to par and parts of my face are irritated. The stuff I use is pure food grade aloe vera gel and nothing else (some people drink the stuff but I haven't tried that).
It absorbs right in, does not dry or flake off, is not shiny and stops irritation almost immediately. It's great stuff. I keep it in the fridge which also makes it feel oh so good for the occasional times when I need it.

i have used pure aloe vera after shaving once or twice but use it mostly for sunburn

I prefer to mix mine with witch hazel and a few other things, but yes, I have used it straight before.

Thanked: 3795I use it straighter.
I cut leaves off my aloe plant and keep them in my bathroom. After each shave, I cut about half an inch off of one, rub it between my palms, pick out the couple of green bits, and then rub it on my face. It's fresh, pure, and free!

Thanked: 174I use it. Better than Trumpers skin food in my honest opinion. Cheap as chips as well.

If you can take the aroma, aloe vera is great. I have use the method described by utopian with good results for many things, including, sun burns and a dog bite. Making a smoothie with the crystal is very refreshing as well.

Thanked: 3795I guess I've never noticed any sort of aroma, and I've been doing this for more than a decade! I will have to try to remember to sniff my aloe one of these days!
