Another use for Alum.
I have been learning to drive. horses and carriages actually
not cars.
It was recommended to us by an expert that we rub the shoulders and neck of a horse with alum daily in order to help toughen his skin up so the collar harness wouldn't make him so sore. I thought it interesting, that we do the same thing for our shaves LOL.
An alternative he said we could use was Malt vinegar. Hmmm......
vinegar as an aftershave treatment. I wonder what my dermatologist would think.

Why are you learning to drive horses, Tim? Hobby? General interest? Going "back to the land" and "off the grid?"
Seems like a cool thing to know how to do, though!

Malt vinegar as an aftershave? Don't be surprised if people approach you with tarter sauce!
