    Default Penhaligons LP9 and Elixir

Popped into a branch today to pick something up for one of the members here and ended up flirting with the girls in the shop... but that's another story.

Anyway, they drew my attention to a couple of new lines so thought it worth mentioning here.

LP9 -- I got a lot of impressed looks and coo's from the girls when I said "Ah, so you finally decided to bring it back". Man, you can tell I was enjoying the attention.

Elixir -- I'd seen this in an email campaign. The scent was very unique. Imagine a cross between Hammam Bouquet and English Fern -- the cedar and eucalyptus gives the fresh fern scent and the Turkish rose is a little like the hammam, but not as strong. It's actually a great combination.

    Worth checking out.

If it is just like a small decant that I got a couple of years ago, I will definitely be getting another bottle of this EdT.

gugi, you'll get me in trouble with Mrs M!

The website shows them as two different products:
    For women:
Strange & beguiling, LP No. 9 for ladies is potent and addictive brew of sweet floral notes, spices and musk. It opens with a creamy accord of tarragon and lavender sharpened with a twist of lemon. The heart reveals the open sweetness of carnation wrapped in rich sensual basenotes of cedar, spice & vanilla. The final effect is gorgeously soft and romantic, shot through with powdered memories of love.
    For men:
Minty black and warm, LP No. 9 casts a spell of powdered darkness from its complex heart of ylang-ylang, spices and iris. The aromatic mingle of clove, vanilla & earthy patchouli add a sweetened ginger-ale touch to heady layers that open and smooth into a moreish bubblegum-scented delight.

Man, I really hate EDT/EDC descriptions. They're so...

just came back from Penhaligons at Saks...

I cant say I like the Elixir. It has an opening of Eucalyptus..that ust seems to linger a bit to long for my liking...so I didnt end up getting it.

That's very interesting. On my skin it's the cedar that dominates the topnotes. I can't really pin down what draws me to it, but once I finish my bottle of Castile I will probably buy Elixir.

I agree with Isaac -- No matter how much effort is put into descriptions of EDTs, you definitely need to try it out first since skin type can change the scent radically. Those strips they have are good to give an initial scent, but really you need to ask for a sample to wear all day to know how the dry down behaves with your skin.

Oh, and an independent third party analysis helps too -- SWMBO!

Isaac....did the girls at Saks tell you that LP9 was only available for women?
When I was in NYC on Staurday, I picked up some Blenheim Bouquet and some Elixir....but they told me that LP9 was only a woman's fragrance....
