The timeless and amazing Santa Maria Novella Products!
I love these products and haven't seen anything mentioned on SRP about them, so I thought I would share a link! LAFCO,NY sells SMN products and shares about their history. They have been around since the 1500's in Florence, Italy. If you have the cash to invest, it is well worth it, but they are a little pricey. I hear their silver tip brushes are great too, but I have not seen or used one...yet!
Enjoy! (Click on link below for a video, etc.)

I have the SMN lavender A/S splash. It is very nice. It is the only alcohol-based lavender splash that I could find. It has a pleasant but fleeting smell and is nice on the skin.

They are really high quality scents. I've only sampled the colognes, not sure how the aftershaves work.
And yes they are a bit pricey, I think that's why we don't see too much talk, just like with many other expensive products.
I find their scents very well blended and always seemed very 'natural', as in remind me of 'nature'.

Thanked: 23Santa Maria Novella Emulsione Analcolica
What a great product this is. It is an aftershave balm which imparts a subtle but classic scent and does an excellent job of calming the skin after this newbie gets done an overkill third pass just for the heck of it. Pricey, but likely to last a long time.
Anyone else tried this?

Thanked: 293Just thought I'd throw out that I was just at the Santa Maria Novella a couple weeks ago (the church and the train station). Who'd'a thunk they'd made colognes/AS?

I have the shaving cream and is ....fantastic! Pity I did not get any AS when I was at their shop in Barcelona, but had to buy more stuff for the wife...next time.

Thanked: 3I remember the Lafco store when they were in Tribeca in NYC quite a few years ago. It was a big open industrial looking space right near the entrance of the Holland Tunnel. They had quite a few nice things there and I bought two or tree bottles of the Santa Maria Novella cologne which I have never used and still have! I remember them being about $75 a bottle back then and that could have been 15 years ago! I also remember the scents being quite nice! I think it's time to "crack open a bottle"!
Cheers!

Thanked: 0I've used the Santa Maria Novella Crema da Barba with amazing results. I don't know how it is with a straight razor, as I'm still working on getting a shaver ready. I can say that using it with a crappy cartridge razor I got the best shave I've ever had. It produces a good lather. The smell is just indescribable. Lavender but more. Also, the stuff is price maybe $50-60 for a tub of it but it lasts forever. I think I've had a tub of it last for at least 3 months.
Once I've got my razor up and running I'll probably post again.

I bought the Aqua Soave when last in NY...$75!! Its billed as follows:
This slightly alcoholic product with its hydrating, softening (contains castor oil) and astringent properties, should be used to keep skin healthy and clear. May also be used as an astringent after shaving (men or women). Especially good for those who engage in sports to re-hydrate the skin. For normal skin types.
The scent is longer lasting than many after shaves, but not as long lasting as a cologne. The product is unlike anything I've used. I really like it. Of course you can buy of Nivea balm for the price, but...life is short. Pamper.
Best to all.
