Thanked: 0Pinaud Special Reserve and Lilac
Today I received my order from Tony Miller, a 127 strop and two free bottels of Pinaud Special Reserve and Lilac (I couldn't pass up that kinda deal, and they are full). Well up until now I've been using Truefitt & Hill Lavender with Classic Aftershave Balm. Today though I tried Pinaud Special Reserve, ouch! That stuff gives one hell of a sting but quickly dies down and after a few minutes you don't notice it at all. Great smell, can't wait to try the Lilac. These won't become my everyday aftershaves because I usually like the more aristocratic fragrences from Trumpers, Truefitt, Taylors, DR Harris. Special Reserve reminds me of something different, felt like a time travel back into the 1950s. Gives me a mafiosi vibe for some reason.

Isn't that the stuff little Macaulay Culkin used in the beginning of "Home Alone" when the stranded Kevin decides to shave and slaps on the aftershave? Yi-oooowww!

David,
I would love to find a capture of that Home Alone scene to use as my avatar. What a great expression when that aftershave starts doing it's thing

So right-click on it Tony, and save-it-as; the Avatar Faerie has granted your wish,
B.T.W. .... A long animated GIF like this (made from an AVI captured from a DVD) is much larger than the 6k limit for a stored avatar on this site. So, you must insert it as a URL in the avatar dialog under your screenname profile. I use PhotoBucket.com as a FREE host ..... you can open an account and upload it to such a host and leave it there. A 6k version of this animation is just ..... too choppy.

Thanked: 0The Lilac Vegetal is a wonder, there are 2 camps, either you love it or hate it. I am in the Hate group, it has a certain scent or aroma that is locked into my reptilian scent memory center. I recoil with shock and horror! Don't know where or when i smelled this butcan only associate it with BAD things.
You're a bad man a very bad man! Put him in the corn field son!

John,
I am with you on the Lilac. Just can't take it and gladly sent it and the Special Reserve to Sinatra with the condition he never send it back

Thanked: 0I like the Liclac Vegetal, not a favorite but an intruiging scent. I wonder if the real Sinatra would like it...? He liked the lighted scents like Yardly Lavender etc.
