The drugstore witch hazel I use is 86% witch hazel , and 14% alcohol . I follow it up with some Brut after shave balm .
Greetings , from Dundalk , Maryland . The place where normal people , fear to go .

Floris includes witch hazel in their after shave. It makes for a much more soothing experience than other a/s.

Witch Hazel has a smell, if you cannot smell it it must either be masked by something else, or there must not be much witch hazel in mix.

But are you smelling the witch hazel or some of the other stuff they put in the mix? Thayer's is generally preserved with a mix of citric acid, ascorbic acid and tochopyrol acetate, all of which have odors of their own. In addition, most Thayer's witch hazel products contain Aloe Vera, which also has a smell, and their Medicated witch hazel contains alcohol. Witch hazel has a woody, herbal odor, is that what you smell?

I'm talking about the overall smell of Thayer's Original Witch Hazel.

I run an alum block over my face as soon as I've finished the shave. It closes pores and gives great feedback when you've been rough. I quickly rinse off with cold water then apply the witch hazel. I love it. Hard to describe because the alcohol free version leaves no sensation other than a clean feeling. Next, I go with a virtually scentless cream, now its Nivea Sensitive somethingorother, and a little cologne.

Witch Hazel is now part of my routine. I imagine it'll even be better in the hot summer. Try the sampler pack I mentioned.

    Best...

Hey there. This is exactly what I want to do but I don't know if will be too much or not. I don't want to use any alcohol based witch hazel's though.
