Thread: TGQ - Cavendish Cologne

Now I have not seen any reviews for this, nor is this a review for the product. It is, however, a public service message.

You must buy this!!

If you love the smell of Colleen's Cavendish Soap/Cream then you simply cannot be without this cologne.

It arrived in a very nice black box with appropriate labeling. It was packed in paper and styronuts. The box was further packed in a larger shipping box with more styronuts. It arrived safe and secure. The bottle is a nice 1 oz. GLASS bottle. Square and squat with an nice black cap. It is further sealed with tape on the cap.

It smells wonderful. Feels great, even used after a shave I received a little burn, but it was not bad. I did not use it as an aftershave.

The cologne is an Extrait. Which means that it contains, by definition, 20% - 30% scent compounds. It is potent and a little does go a long way.

To that end there are only two things that I would change to this wonderful offering.
1. A Wax seal like Maker's Mark Bourbon. It would just be a nice touch.
2. An atomizer or orifice reducer in the bottle to avoid spillage.

Colleen clearly states that this is Version 1. Version 2 I hope is just the same.

I cannot say that I know for certain, but I would say no.

Patchoulli is a very potent smell and one that cannot be hidden. You could email Colleen and get a definite answer.

I just got my bottle in the mail, and oh my does it smell good (though taking a whiff out of the bottle directly, as I did at first, is a bit like inhaling 150-proof rum). I second your post whole-heartedly! And I also think a wax seal would be awesome, though the packaging is quite classy already.

I have a question, though: how exactly do you put it on? I'm not very experienced with cologne and am a bit lost without the atomizer. This being a highly-concentrated extrait, I also don't want to overdo it or anything.

Put a little behind your ears or a little on your wrists.

Just put your wrist on the top of bottle and tip over and rub.

Just ordered the Cavandish Cream, Leatherneck Cream, Highlander soap, and Lime Margarita soap thursday. Figured I'd try to add some variety to my Harris Marlboro, and CF Cedar and Sandlewood.

Hi there,

I'm not much for splash type applications, so I decant into an atomizer. Try the travel section at Walgreens or Walmart......places like that. You should find some various inexpensive plastic atomizers.

The thing is, the juice may not react all that well to a plastic bottle, so don't pour a lot in at first. I imagine glass would be preferrable.....maybe try a place like The Container Store for those. There's also lots of online sites to order from as well.

Oh, the scent of this 'extrait' is really nice to my nose, and seems to last longer than the "Leatherneck' fragrance(also excellent).
