They do make different types of alcohol for making perfumes, aftershaves, etc. But from what I understand those aren't really necessary, unless you decide to start selling. It's illegal to sell aftershave with drinkable grain alcohol in it. The company BDom shared with us sells the different types of alcohol, if you want to take a look.

Keenedge, I'm sorry about not paying enough attention to your thread title (Alcohol by Volume.) I gave you the ratio page instead of the alcohol page. It looks like you found the information that you needed anyway. Now, I know what my father meant when he said " You ain't dumbest kid I had... but you ain't the smartest either."

Actually I found the formula page very helpful. If I did the math correctly it looks like they're suggesting a 50% to 66% abv for aftershave. Thanks again.

Guyana Bay Rum is a whopping 85% alcohol. You have to be careful not to inhale too deeply while it is evaporating off or it will choke you out.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread on a tangent, but I was wondering if anyone here knew where I can find data on the closed cup flashpoint of certain aftershaves (namely Tabac EdC and AS, Proraso, and Ogallala Bay Rum) - I'm wanting to buy these from an online vendor, but apparently USPS won't ship them. However, I've received OBR samples shipped by USPS previously, which is making me hope that these and others may meet the flashpoint tests so I can get them shipped by USPS, otherwise it'll be a whopping 130USD for FedEx shipping on top of the costs of these. I've tried Google but got very little useful info, so was hoping there might be a chemist or something like that who can help me out here.

Alternatively, is there a loophole I can use to get these items shipped by USPS? $130 is ridiculously expensive, and actually more than these items will cost, so if I can find a way to ship via the cheaper option it'd be much appreciated.
