Pinaud Bay Rum = BURN!
So I picked up a bottle of Pinaud Bay Rum at the local Walgreens. I know you guys said that it burns a little. I'm used to that tingling feeling from Skin Bracer of other aftershaves, but jeebus, this stuff sets you on fire for a minute straight!
Ironically, I had bought a bottle, gotten into the car and opened it up to try a little out to check out the scent on the way home. After I applied a bit, I closed up the bottle and noticed that a bunch had leaked all over myself and the car. oops! The bottom of the bottle was dinged and leaking all over the car. I exchanged it immediately for a new bottle that was not leaking. Now my car smells like a barbershop! mmmm....

The amount of burn varies significantly between people and between aftershaves as well, in my experience and view. Plus the spash-AS is a great indicator of proper shaving technique: When I just started, bad technique and everything, it'd burn as if I'd just napalmed the hair off my face. Now it's a lot better, going to a little tingle from time to time with a pleasant 'warmth' I guess.
How long have you been straight shaving?
No complaints/questions yet from family about the smell in the car and whether you're trying to cover up something?

I've been at this for a little over a month. It was partially my fault I suppose as I was a little aggressive on the shave last night....you see, my map makes it almost impossible to BBS my neck without doing some 'trick shots' that usually end up in razor burn.

Of course it burns because it has so much alcohol. personally I wouldn't really call it bay Rum. To me its more of a Cinnamon type smell but I do like it. Its a great test of your shaving skills though.

The Clubman will damn sure let you know if your touch is light enough with the razor!!!! Like said before it's real heavy with the alcohol, but man it smells good!!

Yes, sir. I have a bottle of the Pinaud Bay Rum and it burns me like the dickens. Of course, that is indicative of my newbie shaving skills. However, I do like the scent.

Perhaps the best part is that the wife likes it. I was using Old Spice, but her grandpa used it daily but died a couple years ago of cancer and she hasn't liked me using it since.

I'm a huge fan of the Clubman Bay Rum!
The first time I tried it, just to test the scent, it burned a bit on the skin. I've since realized that it's the cinnamon essence which lights up my face. All in all, a good scent and when mixed with an ASB (444 in my case) a good finish to a good shave.
Cheers!
