...is that I don't wash it off, and I have no issues applying balm (Nivea or AOS or various proprietaries (Brooks Bros., Polo, Drakkar, etc.)) over it. I do wait until it's dry. It is, among other things, an antimicrobial. You wouldn't put iodine or Betadine on a scratch, and then wash it off a minute later, would you? Contact antimicrobials need continued "contact" to be maximally effective.
