Default Boots (UK Chemist chain) Bay Rum..

Just bought some for £2 to see what it's like. Says on the bottle that it is a scalp treatment but bought it anyway. Splashed a bit on and our lass said it smelt like Pot-pourri with cinnamon.. Said I smelt like an old man...

    No pleasing some people lol.

Anyone else tried this? (Guess y'all over the pond won't have a Boots, expect it to be a UK thing)

It's a hair and skin tonic. I sometimes use it after my shave and I love the smell. The problem is it lasts minutes at best and then the smell fades. Pashana Bay Rum lasts quite a bit longer and can usually be found for around £5 a bottle in pharmacies and supermarkets, although it has more of a hint of cloves than the Boots Bay Rum.

Ah right, thanks for that. I looked at the ingredients and it had alcohol in it so thought it would be OK.
Actually cost me less than £2 as our lass is a Boots employee so no loss really. Might have to get some proper Bay Rum.

I noticed this some time ago in a Boots store. I was tempted but I also saw that it was a scalp treatment. Very tempted by the Royall Bay Rum that fragrancex.com are doing - with free postage worldwide of course. Seems like the best quality out there.

Question for you guys though: do you only use Bay Rum as an aftershave or do you have other uses for it?

I use it as an aftershave. As I shave my head, the Boots " scalp tonic " description appeals to me somehow. It's £2 a bottle so it's worth trying as an aftershave if you're curious, I find it works quite well.

I use old spice and bay rum and my kids say I smell like an old man. Well I am. My wife likes it and so do I.
