    Default Jojoba Oil

    Ladies and gentlemen:

Jojoba is used in various ways by men and women to lubricate and pamper the skin. I am curious if anyone uses jojoba oil as a pre-shave oil, aftershave balm, or as additive to lather in the way glycerin is used. Also, do you use it by itself or mixed with other products? What are your thoughts on jojoba and its benefits, if any, in the shaving wold?

    Many thanks.

    Regards,

I use it as both pre- and post-shave and enjoy it. It's doesn't leave my hands and skin oily like with olive oil (which I used for a bit) but protects well. I'll also use a drop after my bay rum and since jojoba is unscented it won't affect the bay rum (or whatever) scent.

I've found that one or two tiny drops are enough. I'll rub it into my hands and then onto my face/head by itself, and if I'm using it as a pre-shave then I'll usually wait a minute or two before lathering.

I'd recommend it since you can find it locally at health/organic markets and it's also a good moisturizer should you decide not to use it as part of your shaving routine.

I have a bottle of it I use after i shave not really as an aftershave but more as a moisturizer. It works very well and I think it has some properties to heal the skin from irritation and redness.

my favorite oil as a moisturizer is rosehip seed oil. This stuff is great. The only thing is I still get acne and it makes it worse sometimes.

I used to use it about 10 years ago as an ASB - but found it a little too oily. It's great for your face though - I would try it if I were you.
I love the smell of shaving cream in the morning!
